Recent Deep Sea
Fishing Catch of the Day:
For the third year in a row we
contacted Captain Jerome Deep Sea Fishing to book our annual Bimini deep
sea fishing trip. In
my
party of seven sportsmen, I had several that wanted to experience Bimini's
world record holding bonefish locations. In one phone call to
Captain Jerome Stuart, not only were we booked for two days of
quality deep sea fishing aboard his 34 foot ship "Miss Bonita
I", but he also handled our request for two days of championship
bonefishing.
On Saturday,
Don Angel of Atlanta landed the heaviest of numerous groupers with a
47-pounder fish that was full of fight. George Diamantis of
Chattanooga came in with a close second with his 42 pound grouper.
On Sunday, it was again Don Angel with a 44 pound grouper being largest of
the catch. Len Dougherty of Knoxville caught the next largest fish
with a nice 39-pound grouper. The rest of the catch was grouper in
the 25 to 33 lb. class, along with a solo wahoo.
Each evening we requested that
Captain Stuart select the best of
each
day's catch of grouper and wahoo to be prepared as our
main course at the Bimini Big Game Club's
restaurant. Captain Stuart handled
the request flawlessly so we could "enjoy the fruits
of our labor".
When the time came for us to
return home again this year, I had but one request of Captain Jerome
Stuart - for next year to be a repeat of the last three years' experience,
because "those experiences cannot be improved upon."
